What happened recently in Butte County and its aftermath, is beyond the scope of our imagination. We feel compelled to help – those of us with intact families and homes, warm beds, and safe drinking water – and those of us who remember what not having those things is like. But what can we do?
It may feel impersonal, but making a cash donation is the most helpful thing you can do right now. Giving to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) or to the conference’s Disaster Response Fund ensures that your donation will be applied where it can be the most helpful, based on a local assessment of needs.

We will be collecting food for the Food Bank of Contra Costa, through the holiday season. A barrel will be placed in the Narthex where you can bring items. How much should you bring? Think about the weight of a baby - human or elephant! or anything in between!
Did questions come up during the worship service that you'd like to discuss? Did something happen this week that's raised questions for you? You're invited to join fellow-travelers for some discussion of the things that are on your mind. Come up to Keislar Hall for fellowship, and then stay a while longer for some time in prayer and reflection in the Fireside Room. No prior knowledge necessary.
We are reading and discussing Robin Meyers' book, Saving
Jesus from the Church. Curious? Come and find out! Meet in Room 1.
Starting in June and continuing throughout the summer and beyond, each
4th Sunday of the month will be a hosted lunch for
coffee fellowship. We invite you to put this important date on your
calendars and pan to come to coffee fellowship after the service for a
time of fellowship, fun and great food!
Coffee time after Sunday worship service is a great time to catch up
with all your church family, see old friends and make new ones, ask
the preacher questions about the sermon, share your concerns and joys
or share your thoughts about the day to day happenings in our
communities, and our world.
Make this a standing date on your calendar, your place will be reserved and a scrumptious feast will await you as we share a time of church family and fellowship.
Please see Noel Stout, Pastor Mark, or anyone on the Worship
Committee if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing
EVERYONE on the 4th Sunday of the month!
If you need help getting from the sanctuary to Keislar Hall, assistance will be provided.
The Blessings Closet is now located in Room 2 ... please refer to the ESUMC Calendar for scheduled openings. For additional information on the Blessings Closet, please contact Ron Stout.
